Tree traditions, elasticated waistbands, prizes for anyone who remembers where I've hidden the Christmas chocolates, and sleep. Dear Santa: please, please, please may I have some sleep...?
Sounds lovely, but I need a tree up for all of December! Well, I did back when we had a house. Now I mostly just enjoy the decorations of whatever city we happen to be living in.
I can’t wait until the night before Christmas either but admire the Viking fortitude…! And taking in the customs and cultures and celebrations of wherever you’re laying your hat each Christmas also has a huge appeal :)
glædelig jul! This was great reading. In his first-ever Christmas away from family, my Swiss-raised son is spending the holidays with his local ‘contact family’ in Aarhus. It’s nice to imagine what might be going on there. 🥰
We were treated to a Danish Christmas dinner once, it was September but hey. Fantastic. And we were taught about jumping off the couch in to the New Year which I LOVE doing
Ah, the gift of sleep, the most precious of them all! I can see many similarities between Christmas in Denmark and Christmas in Ireland as everything shuts down. It was a shock to the system for me in my first year after having lived in London! Have a hygge Christmas!
Clears space on bookshelf for new novel 🥳
Ahh thank you:)
